Astrid Bernard

Hello my name is Astrid Bernard.

Three words to describe me are Passionate, Dedicated & Empathetic.

When I’m not teaching Yoga I am spending time with my husband and our Chocolate Lab, Murphy. I love being out in nature - soaking up the sun, walking on the beach, jumping into the ocean, shopping local farmer’s markets, reading, exploring, hiking, and taking Yoga & fitness classes. I also enjoy down time at home - cooking and snuggling in to binge watching a good series.

My ideal morning is waking up without an alarm, Murphy comes to lay on my chest for some good morning pets. My husband cooks us breakfast and we spend time out in nature.

I dream about staying in a purposeful career that lights me up & serves to help better people’s lives. I also dream of traveling the world.

I am grateful for my health, our recent move to the Central Coast, my career, my husband, Murphy, family, friends & this yoga community.

Yoga has taught me so many things, but to name a few - To get out of my head and into my body. I am not my thoughts. How to properly breathe and stay present. Self-awareness & acceptance.

I love to teach Restorative, Gentle, Vinyasa, All Levels, Power Yoga & Meditation.

Three words to describe my teaching style are Mindful, Meditative & Supportive

As a teacher I am here to love, serve & elevate. I enjoy creating an environment where students feel safe & supported to help empower their practice.

Music you might hear in my class is: I switch it up depending on the class style. I love carefully curating new playlists.

My yoga experience includes: I started practicing at age 17 right before I left for Boot Camp in the Air Force, and that helped me tremendously! However, it wasn’t until I was 25 that I was able to do my 200-hour training. I started teaching during that time in 2015. I know I wanted to continue learning and teaching Yoga and shortly after completed my 300-hour training. In 2019, I was hired as a full-time yoga teacher, and I completed an additional 200-hour training. Since then, I have completed additional training every year, including Reiki, Sound Healing, and Yoga Nidra. This year (2023), I will be completing training in Somatic Healing. I am a life-long learner and I love to apply this approach both in Yoga and in life from this perspective!

I am excited to be a part of the Harmony House community because the space and team are welcoming, caring, and kind! Harmony House aligns with my mindful, mediative, and supportive approach to Yoga.  I am excited to join the community – Harmony House is truly a special place!
