Kelly Keene

Hello my name is Kelly.

Three words to describe me are kind, happy, caring.

When I'm not teaching yoga I love to surf, garden, spend time with my love, and learn learn learn.

My ideal morning is waking up in the quiet dark hours of the morning to make a warm drink, enjoy my practices, some silence, THEN all my chores. I love morning. Oh and add in a bowl of Ezekial cereal and its my ideal morning =)

I dream of a lot. Growing big shady trees for my grandchildren to enjoy one day is at the top of the list.

I am grateful for the power of community.

Yoga has taught me dedication, the true ability to breath, and a sacred appreciation for my life.

I love to teach breath awareness, anatomical alignment, slow and steady classes so we can have an on-going relationship with the postures. I also love to teach one pose group at a time for an energetically clear and intentional outcome.

Three words to describe my teaching style are purposeful, detailed, and inward.... and maybe breath-focused and slow. That's 5, whoops.

As a teacher, I hope to guide students through a methodical and safe practice, so we can all be practicing yoga for the rest of our lives. But mostly I hope to embody the qualities of humility and passion.

Music you might hear in my class is mostly silence lately.

My yoga experience includes being human. But also pranayama, meditation, and whole lot of self- study. I have been practicing yoga since 2002 and started teaching just a couple years later. I opened Harmony House in 2009 and have enjoyed witnessing the evolution of this place that I love so much. Most recently, I have developed a teacher training program called "Living and Teaching From Your Spiritual Heart" and feel honored to be teaching teachers.

I am excited to be a part of the Harmony House community because... I'm tearing up as I write this. The Harmony House community inspires me every. single. day. It is full of the most dedicated students and staff. Harmony House welcomes each and every person who walks in the door and this makes me proud. Thank you to the staff, teachers, and students who are all creating and contributing to this community invested in turning inward so we can be of service, be present, and be our best selves throughout all aspects of our lives. Thank you.

My ideal morning is waking on my own, leisurely making my way out of bed, savoring an iced coffee and egg whites before heading to a yoga or fitness class.

I dream about what I want to be when I grow up and then I dream about never growing up.

I am grateful for my supportive family, great friends, and the good times we’ve shared.

Yoga has taught me to accept and let go. And also to never say, “I can’t…”

I love to teach and spread my love of movement, whether in a yoga studio or beyond. I firmly believe any form of movement can work wonders for your body and mind.

Three words to describe my teaching style are strong, intentional, and balanced.

As a teacher, I aim for a practice that challenges yet welcomes all. I want students to feel empowered to push boundaries and discover their true potential. And as a teacher, I am always learning myself!

Music you might hear in my class is a mix of chill beats, acid jazz, alternative/indie, and spa vibes.

I suffered chronic back pain that ended with me getting surgery in 2010. After having my second child in 2012, I had similar back pain again. I did not think drugs or surgery were the answer, so I sought out other solutions. Enter in hot yoga again! In under a year, my back pain was practically gone sparking my passion for sharing its magic with others. Hello my name is Cassidy.

Three words to describe me are passionate, grounded, and motivated.

When I’m not teaching yoga I'm running in the hills, reading, talking about the books I'm reading, singing loudly in the car, or cooking yummy food!

My ideal morning is sitting quietly in a comfy chair, reading my book while drinking a cup of jo.

I dream about so much! I'm a dreamer, through and through. To live in a world with less fear and more peace. To grow old with my forever best friend and husband. To raise kids without screens. To live by a river. To own and run my own retreat center one day. I could go on...

I am grateful for the people in my life who had held me and loved me through so many different seasons. I would not, and could not, be who I am without them. I'm also eternally grateful for bread and cheese.

Yoga has taught me about... wow, so much. It feels hard to put it all into words. I'll just leave it at this: yoga has taught me how to listen more and talk less.

I love to teach vinyasa yoga! I am a firm believer that when we practice and engage in the physical act of integrating our body and breath together, it will form us to be more integrated as individuals and as communities.

Three words to describe my teaching style are intentional, strong, and flowwyyyy.

As a teacher, I'm passionate about creating intelligent sequences where people are moving their bodies in a way that feels both safe and empowering. At the same time, I love to make jokes and laugh because sometimes we take yoga so dang seriously! At the end of the day, if I can facilitate a space where people can spend an hour just moving their bodies and taking deeper breaths then I'm a happy camper.

Music you might hear in my class is mostly instrumentals. At the moment, I tend to choose music without lyrics.

My yoga experience: I began yoga in college because I was both an avid runner and was majoring in Ceramics. Needless to say, my body needed some major TLC. That's when I began my own yoga practice and I fell in love immediately. In 2018 I received my RYT 200-hour training in Tulsa, Oklahoma with I AM Yoga. And most recently, I became a certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher (TIYT) through Sundara Yoga. So I can seriously nerd out on the neurobiology of yoga if I'm provoked.

I am excited to be a part of the Harmony House community because it feels like home. The people, the space, the way the light comes in through the windows at sunset. Sheesh! What's not to love?

My name is Eva Taylor. I have resided here on the central coast my whole life. I enjoy being in nature and the outdoors and I epecially love to be in the ocean! I have been an avid surfer for the past 20+ years and feel so proud to call this area of the coast my home.

The reason I enjoy nature and the ocean so much is for the deep sense of calm it brings. Throughout my years growing up and into adulthood, anxiety was a feeling that would come up around certain situations or events. This emotion was so challenging for me to overcome during those moments that often I would just want to run from it. Anxiety and stress are emotions we all experience on some level and now more than ever there are so many avenues for these emotions to invite themselves into our daily lives. The question is how do we "deal"? For me this question sparked a lifelong passion for learning about health and wellness.

After graduating Bauman College in 2016 as a Nutrition Consultant, I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Kelly Metcalf at Harmony House Yoga. During my teacher training I began to study Restorative Yoga and was introduced to the teachings of Judith Hanson Lasater PhD.,PT. Judith Lasater quite literally 'wrote the book' on Restorative Yoga and is considered the all around “Queen of Restorative”.

I was immediately drawn to Restorative yoga for the nourishing and relaxing effects I felt in my body. The more I practiced the more I experienced this relaxing effect spreading deeper into my mind and spirit. In the summer of 2021 I had the opportunity to learn and become certified directly thru Judith Lasater as a Relax and Renew® Restorative Yoga Teacher. I'm now on a mission to share this beautiful calming practice with my community. We all need more Restorative yoga!

Three words to describe me are genuine, holistic, and nurturing.

When I'm not at Harmony House I'm usually at the beach, cooking up nutrient dense meals, or spending quality time with my loved ones!

My ideal morning would include barefoot grounding with a hot matcha in hand, watching the sunrise, enjoying a full breakfast spread, and later doing a full day at the beach of laying out and ocean dips. Then finishing off the day with a steak dinner!

I dream of helping people. I'm not sure what that looks like yet, but I have a servant's heart and a passion for helping/ healing people, and I can only hope that someday I can do just that.

I am grateful for my home town + my family. Growing up in Pismo has been one of my biggest blessings and I appreciate the lifestyle my parents showed me. Having the opportunity to hike and go to the beach everyday is such a gift!

Yoga has taught me humility. Your first yoga class can be quite humbling; you often times find all the areas you're lacking in like strength, balance, and flexibility. No matter where you are in your yoga journey, it's important to have grace and patience with yourself. You will find that your body and mind are much more capable of change when you commit to your practice.

As your Yoga Advisor, my goal is to help guide you with any questions you may have regarding your journey with yoga here at Harmony House.

My yoga experience started around 11 years old and it's been in my life ever since! As a girl who struggles with anxiety and panic attacks, yoga has really helped me through some difficult seasons. It's helped aid me in breathing techniques, low impact movement, releasing muscle tension, and self love through some seasons of low self esteem. I am so thankful for what yoga has done for me.

I am excited to be a part of the Harmony House community because it's such a joyous and compassionate crew. I'm so thankful for all the relationships I've made through this place and hope to continue nurturing those connections for a long time!
