Garnet Methmann
Hello my name is Garnet.
Three words to describe me are Compassionate, Adventurous, Happy.
When I'm not teaching yoga I love to be outside, learn, and have BBQ's with family and friends.
My ideal morning is early rising with quietness and nature.
I dream of expanded world consciousness.
I am grateful for everything in my life! For instance, my family, friends, dog, job, a healthy body, and being able to learn new things!
Yoga has taught me, most importantly, to love myself.
I love to teach Hatha, yang to yin and core yoga.
Three words to describe my teaching style are passionate, mindful, and grounded.
As a teacher, I hope to provide an inspiring environment for students to deepen their own yoga practice.
Music you might hear in my class is Soul music. Honestly too much to list. I play a wide variety of music. You might hear anything from classic rock, reggae/dub, hip hop, devotional yoga music, Nordic folk, etc.
My yoga experience includes: I have been practicing yoga for around 12 years. My grandmother is an active yogi and I grew up coming home wondering what the heck she was doing?! I was introduced to yoga at the age of 15. Since then I dappled by taking as many classes I could afford while living on my own in Santa Barbara. I also took 2 semesters of Yoga at SBCC right after high school. I have always been fascinated with the way yoga made me feel and think. I moved to the central coast in 2012 and found Harmony House Yoga. Since then I have been a yoga junkie! I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training with Kelly Metcalf, "Living and Teaching From Your Spiritual Heart," in 2015.
I am excited to be a part of the Harmony House community because this place is my home! I have been a student here for many years and have gotten the opportunity to become close to the students and teachers here. I am grateful for this opportunity to share this space.
