Chelsea Mclaughlin
Hello my name is Chelsea McLaughlin
Three words to describe me are: warm, open, and compassionate.
When I'm not teaching yoga I love to: be with my family and friends, hike, dance, ride horses, be in nature, and enjoy the beautiful beach.
My ideal morning is: waking up to a misty morning, enjoying a tea or coffee, practicing yoga, meditation, a walk with my dogs, and then maybe snuggle back into a cozy bed to slowly connect with my family.
I dream of: a world where we are not triggered and led by fear but instead of an unconditional love for one another. I dream of consciously and mindfully living each moment I get in this life with immense gratitude in my heart. As I remember the sacredness of each breath I have, I am able to see, feel, and be in my life with more gratitude. I dream of traveling and exploring the world.
I am grateful for: my kids, my husband, my friends, my animals; my life. I am so grateful to continue to learn and grow each day.
Yoga has taught me: to get out of my head and into my body. The practice of yoga continues to teach me to come back to my breath and gratitude in the present moment. Yoga teaches me to be more mindful of my thoughts, words, and actions, and also that we are all reflections of each other. The most challenging moments can be our greatest lessons if we surrender to them and commit to acceptance. Yoga reminds me to be content.
I love to teach: a sweet slow gentle flow with mindfulness on the breath, and also a faster paced methodical Vinyasa or Hatha that brings heat and awareness into our bodies.
Three words to describe my teaching style are: intentional, fluid, and rejuvenating.
As a teacher, I hope to: empower and inspire my students to continue looking inward and grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as we continue our path of yoga together.
Music you might hear in my class is: mostly instrumental music, calming singing bowls, Girish, Garth Stevenson, Krishna Das, Ayla Nereo, Shamans Dream, etc...
My yoga experience includes: I started my yoga practice when living in San Diego in 2004. Since then, I have continued my practice of yoga through two childbirths, practicing pre-natal yoga and finding consistency in my daily Sadhana. I completed my 200 hr teacher training in 2019 with Kelly Metcalf, and am filled with immense gratitude to be able to practice and teach here at Harmony House.
I am excited to be a part of the Harmony House community because: I love this community and space. I enjoy the wood, the warmth, the smiles, and the open arms. It is so unique, special, and welcoming.
